Why aren't many older UBI soft-published games and activision games sold digitally (and with no file data changed from the hard copies) over the internet?

It's ridiculous when some publishers, distributors, and merchants complain about piracy all the time, because sometimes digital releases of games that originally used wav or cdda files are sold with lossy encodings and because they don't even offer every game available online anyway. So what do I do? Why I get a torrent, of course, even though I'm willing to pay UBI soft $15 or even $20 if they released digitally and satisfactorily, yet they have the nerve to continue to complain about piracy.

Sometimes the owner of the privileges takes the time to have things removed from abandonware websites and then they dont even bother selling it. I think that's stupid.

Hm...i wonder...

There's a slew of games that I have CDs for that don't run on NT based OS but the digital version on steam uses lower quality audio like you said. Never thought about playing them again, but if I did...yeah I could see where you'd feel wronged.

could be any reason.

going by some posts, they do not want to devalue their IP by selling at $20. They want to sell at the original price of much more.

They do not want to re-write software to have DRM as releasing it without is just asking for someone to torrent it.

The list goes on, and basically, if you want it, you find an old copy somewhere and hope for the best.
