I, for one, welcome our new Heineken Light overlords.

I recently (most recent was right before I started this thread) had the pleasure of tasting the pure greatness that is Heineken light. I honestly think it's THE best light beer that I've ever had, and believe me you, I've had plenty of light beer.

I now claim this thread as the holy shrine for my new overlord, the Heine Light. You're welcome to join my cult. Crack open a cold one and let the worshiping begins.

I think Confucius once said "A light Heine makes a man happy". ;)

I agree, it's quite good for a light beer. I think I might even prefer it to regular Heineken. I still prefer Dos Equis, Becks, Spaten, and Shiner though.

Heineken sucks. Heineken light may be good for a light beer (don't know, haven't had it), but light beer sucks.

There are much better pilsners out there. Try Grolsch, if you want a commonly available Dutch pilsner.

Heinie Light really isn't that good...

My fav light beer is of all things... Corona Light. I actually prefer it to regular Corona.

Still a million better beers out there though...

With the exception of Coors, Bud, Natural Light, etc, I actually find the cheaper beers to be reasonable enjoyable. I'd still prefer something higher end, but I'd be 95% as happy with a Heineken.

Meh... I prefer Grolsch over Heineken but that's me.
Fortunatly, my regular pub has real beer on tap like Westmalle tripple,Ciney.

This weekend I will be enjoying a bottle of Westvleteren 12 (the best beer in the world)

We don't need no stinkin' light beer.

And for those mentioning Grolsch -- I really hope I just had an old, skunky bottle of it, but if not, that stuff is nasty.

To the "Heineken is disgusting" crowd -- it is an average beer BUT, it is like ambrosia from the gods next to piss water like Coors. I hope I never see someone admit to liking Coors here, or we might have to have an intervention. :D

Regular Heineken tastes like ass, so I can't imagine that the Light version would taste any better.

Do yourself a favor and start drinking good (or at least better) beer.

Wrong.

You guys who drink the heavy dark beers, how many can you drink in succession?

I don't only like heavy dark beers; as a matter-of-fact, I think Guinness is a big MEH. If all I want to do is get a buzz, I'll drink a lighter beer like Corona and knock several back. It isn't a great beer but it is leaps and bounds better than the Coors, Buds, etc. of the world.

If I want to actually enjoy a good beer, then I'll only drink one or two -- 23 oz glasses, that is. I love me some Bass on tap! I enjoy the Sam seasonals, Sierra Nevada, Newcastle, and things like that too, but I can only have a couple bottles at one time. Oatmeal Stout? I can barely get a bottle down.

Yes, but you dissed all light beers. I am inferring that you can't drink a bunch of the darker full bodied beers over the course of a long night out. It's too much.
Light beers have their rightful and righteous place in the beer drinking world.

There's a difference between a "light" and "lite" beer. I think that might be the confusion here. I was referring more to "lite" beers but I used the OPs terminology.
