I FN HATE DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME !!!!!!

OP you do know that this change took place at 2 am Sunday morning (as another poster pointed out)?

If you have a cable box, or computer they both should auto-adjust for DST (the computer if you set that option).

Look at the bright side, at least you weren't an hour late.

And seriously though, if it was worth it we wouldn't be the only country doing it 🙂 Immagine how badly foreigners laugh at those of us who are late ( or early ) for work because of it. I'm sure if it was a good idea it would have caught on by now as the US more or less would serve as a prototype for it that has to have by now proven its worth or worthlessness, I'm voting for the latter.

There are 70 countries with daylight saving time, including all of Europe.

Don't understand how one could miss this. Between friends mentioning it, family, TV, the internet, co-workers...

This isn't DST....we're back to standard time. And Daylight Savings Time should be year round, that extra hour of light at the end of the day is great.

It's Daylight SAVING time.. NOT SAVINGS time!

Oh the irony..your and idiot. It's savings!

From wiki:
In the normative form, daylight saving time uses the present participle saving as an adjective, as in labor saving device; the first two words are sometimes hyphenated, as in daylight-saving time. Daylight savings time, daylight savings, and daylight time are common variants, the savings by analogy to savings account.

See how it's used:
http://aa.usno.navy.mil/faq/docs/daylight_time.php
http://www.energy.ca.gov/daylightsaving.html
http://www.timeanddate.com/time/aboutdst.html

I still say "savings" though.

Everything is about to die, too. I'm glad my seasonal depression isn't as bad as it used to be, but fuck. Ohio winters suck, lol.

I fucking hate that it gets dark at 5PM.

Yeah, this is lame. Why do they have to fuck with it? Now it's dark by the time I get out of class.

Eh, I don't know which I hate more: getting up at 7am and it still being pitch black or getting off work at 5pm and it being pitch black. Can't win either way.

So... the OP does not watch TV or have a computer with a working clock? Or just no internet connection for windows to change it for you...

ACTUALLY! I AM HAPPY! 🙂 I woke up at 7:34 going, "FUCK FUCK FUCK" and then looked at my cellphone and saw it was only 6:34AM and was like, "OMG YYYYYYYYYAYYYYYYY!!!!"

Took a shower and then decided to post on ATOT. 😉

great story, would read again. A+

If you had forgotten yesterday, that'd be forgivable. Forgetting about it a day after is pathetic. Don't you have electronics that auto-set when plugged in? How about a computer? A cellphone?

I agree. I'd much rather drive to work in the dark and have an hour more to play with my kids outside in the daylight.

30 minutes? WTF? You'll throw the whole balance of nature out of whack...why it could herald the end of the world as we know it!

Switzerland, a tiny country that can be crossed end-to-end in some 3 hours or less, once allowed each of their provinces (some 4 or 5, I believe) to determine their own policy for time zones. At one point, each had its own time zone, iirc, that differentiated from their neighboring provinces by 15 minutes.

Of course, this differed from the rest of Europe, which completely surrounds Switzerland. This also explains a lot about the Swiss....

I guess that is why they need so many watches 🙂

Damnation, now I have to manually change the clock on the radio in my truck. I think I'm going to move to Az.

I wish we'd stay on DST year-round. I enjoy having an extra hour of daylight after work.

this. it's quite depressing coming out of work and not being able to enjoy any sunlight

The only good thing about DST is that I can walk outside and grab the morning paper in my boxers. On Standard time I have to put pants on...

ROTFL !!! Now you sir are a true man 🙂

....what? Of course the US is not the only country that does it. Even if you don't count Canada, all or at least most of Europe does it as well.
