I fishtailed!

I was making a left turn and just before straightening out, shifted to 2nd gear... yeah that was a bad idea with a torque monster like the Nissan truck 4 cylinder!
Rear end slid right, I corrected, it slid left, and so on, taking up two lanes. I may owe my life to a steering wheel cover I had JUST got at Autozone. Normally, my 7 year old leather wheel would have been too slippery to correct at all!
I bet I looked like an ass.

Whaddya mean? Gettin' sideways while grabbin' gears is cool....

Of course, I can't do it in my 626 😱.

Not if you're driving a Nissan truck it's not. 😉

It's probably not a bad idea to find a deserted place to practice skidding/fishtailing. That way when it happens again you know how to control your vehicle properly. The first time I went sideways in my car I didn't know how to handle it. Now it's not a big deal because I know what to do, which is good because making the backend kick out on a Firebird is really easy.

I think you misunderstood. I meant that the I4 in my 240sx is a "truck engine". Low end torque and whatnot, not Hondalike.

haha i can't believe you called the engine in your 240 a torque monster.. if you can't handle that kind of power, what if you get a real car someday?
