I finally learned why people like the VFW so much.

I really hate Budweiser. Not because I dont like it but because I dont like it so much I can't drink it. And I really hate that theres a beer that I can't drink.

I figured that the folks who go to the VFW are alcoholic smokers and the VFW is one of the last places where people can smoke while they get drunk.

Alcoholism seems to be a common theme with all fraternal organizations - Elks and Moose I'm pretty sure about. Probably Masons too. Don't know about Shriners.

LoL! I worked with a guy who was always at the Legion hall. Alcoholic smoker :^D

Not sure Bud's worth $1/pint. I might buy one at a festival, when it's already there, but I wouldn't drive out of my way for one, even if it were gratis.

all these people pretending to be beer snobs, yet I would bet most of them have their refrigerator stocked with Budweiser!! Here`s to you!! This Bud`s for you!!

I don't put beer in the fridge in winter. I keep my house at ~56°, and coincidentally, that's ideal beer temp. I have about 10 Guinness extra stouts, and the remains of a Sam Adams winter sampler. I'm not really a beer snob. I can hardly be arsed to think of it. Too many small breweries anymore selling expensive, but mediocre beer. I stick with what I know for the most part. Lowest end I'd seriously consider is Yuengling. That's what a cheap commodity beer should taste like. Unfortunately, it's not all that cheap. Thanks hipsters... :^S

Whisky's where it's at anyway. I like my beer cooked awhile :^D

So no one is giving shorty any shit for AM shit-bear drinking at the VFW on New Year's Eve?
I can't say anything. I'm fucking around on the internet 3/4 lit drinking whisky, and eating nuts. So far the menu's been Laphroaig 10yr, Sagamore Vintners finish rye, and Famous Grouse. Listening to my ambient playlist, and donating money. Life's alright. Getting tired of rain though.

We had a party at VFW, everything was catered and we were sectioned off to the side. They had a cool setup right on the waterfront near the yachts.
A couple of weeks ago I hit an Elk's Lodge with a friend that was a member. Cheap drinks. You could get hammered with real cocktails for super cheap if you wanted.
Again, it was on the waterfront.
My take, it's a good way for people to connect and hang out with some regulars and need something more reliable than the local pub crawls.

How exactly do you go about drinking a bear? Inquirers would like to know....
