I finally landed a job!

After two months of being unemployed, about 45-50 applications, and without unemployment benefits, I got a job! Just a heads up to anyone out there thinking of quitting your job, don't do it! I even applied at every local fast food place and didn't get a call back or anything. I have state certification in security and nothing.

I left my resume at this place two months ago. They are people I interacted with at a previous job and I made sure not to burn any bridges. Later on got a job offer right after I submitted my application. No need for an interview as they already know my work!

I'll be back to security again at a major, large premises shopping center. It may not be as fun as my previous loss prevention job, but it's going to pay my bills just fine.

Woot!

gratz, one question, why did you quit?

And yes in this economy, unless they're putting electrodes in your anus, you don't quit a job without having an offer.

Do you get to ride Segways??

I did at my last job. No dice here I'm certain.

hey man, good for you.

Can you tell us why you quit your previous job ?

General dissatisfaction with the job. It started to become harder as my job duties progressed. Cutting staffing in loss prevention is disastrous. While I used to work in teams of 3-4, I began doing it all by myself. It's a terrifying job doing it alone. Just having someone there makes all the difference.

Security is a whole different job than loss prevention. I'm certain I'll enjoy this quite a bit more than my previous job.

What a working Scholzpdx might look like:

I am about to quit my job and have only myself as the next prospective employer.

I worked loss prevention at the home depot a long time ago, that was a fun job. I was by myself most of the time working at a store in the ghetto of DC.
