My monitor is a Samsung 712n LCD.
I'm 38 years old, Skoorb.
I set my refresh rate to 75. Windows says my monitor won't support higher than that. I'll check the specs on my monitor...

Resolutions supported 1024 x 768 ? 1152 x 870 ? 1280 x 1024 ? 640 x 480 ? 720 x 400 ? 800 x 600 ? 832 x 624 ? 1152 x 864 ? 640 x 350

Synchronization Range - Vertical 56 - 75 Hz

Synchronization Range - Horizontal 30 - 81 kHz

Max. Viewing Angle - Horizontal 160

Max. Viewing Angle - Vertical 140

Native (Recommended) Resolution 1280 x 1024
=====================================
You should be able to set it to at least 72 HZ.

Go to Apadter, then advanced and click on List All Modes.

Pick the highest resolution at 72 HZ and your eyes and brain will thank you.
I set up at 1280x1024 truecolor at 75 hz. (72 hz wasn't an option in list all modes)
I'm not fond of it, but I'm going to get used to it.
Thanks!!!

Beautiful, even better. Your eyes & brain will enjoy it.

You're welcome.

I have one too, you'd be surprised. It's not neccessarily how the LCD reacts, it the way the Video card presents the image.

my monitor is so old that it flickers worse at 85 than 75. Waiting for the 2405 to hit the 500 dollar mark :D

Kick the refresh back down to 60hz. It's doing you no good higher and sounds like it's making it worse.

ClearType will be in Control Panel if you downloaded it as a Power Toy. Otherwise, in Display Properties, Settings tab click Effects.

I'm running 1280 by 1024 on a 19" LCD with 120 DPI on fonts. What burns me about increasing the font size, is apps that can't cope with it and display kinda screwy. Microsoft AntiSpyware is one of them.

Again in Display Properties you can click Appearance tab and Advanced and start changing Font sizes for diffferent items. It's a hassle though.

38 is a fond memory for me. :brokenheart:

I agree 16 x 12 is a bit over the top on a 19" unless you adjust the font size..

i never adjusted the font sizes and ran 16x12 on a 19" crt for about 5 years. now i've got a 2005FPW and its taking me a while to get used to the larger text size. sat out of arm's reach of it too.
