I flew across the state yesterday to interview for a Network Engineering position which I REALLY wanted. I got a call this morning from the guy who interviewed me and they offered the position. I couldn't be more excited right now.

Had to share.

What was the offer?

45K until I get my CCNP.
Do you have the increase in writing somewhere?

Who will be paying for the CCNP?

Either way, welcome to the real world.

They said that they would pay for any training I did. They really want me to go down the Cisco VoIP path, which is something that interests me, so I'm gonna start looking at that stuff.

He's sending me the offer letter this afternoon, I just got off the phone with him, but I'll definitely make sure to get that in writing.

Thanks! I'm soo stoked. I finally get to move back home, and I've already got a house lined up with some friends. I think everything might actually work out.

Is that salary decent where you live? How much network engineering experience do you have?

I have zero network engineering experience, so yeah, it's about average considering that.

Awesome. How long were you looking for a job if you don't mind me asking? I'm looking right now myself, but I'm hoping to relocate my family to the NE, NY hopefully, with this job change.

My best prospect so far is Emerson, they have a Fisher Rosemount Field Engineer spot open in Pittsburgh that I want badly!!!

Again, congrats. Have a  on me.

I have been looking for about 2.5 months I think. I was starting to lose hope, but I had also heard that the job market picks up in Sept.

Good luck!
