It surprises me how few people realize the content has a strong dependence on the underlying hardware. Maybe it's because I debug things for a living, but my first instinct was to try multiple setups and then compare the fundamental components. I can hear every combination of both names across various platforms with no trouble at all. There's nothing special or even notable about this other than how it seems tricky to the average Facebook idiot.

Look at you, spoiling the internet for the average human, banishing us all back to the miserable depths of our daily lives. :(

I finally listened to that stupid fucking clip this past weekend and heard, quite clearly, "laurel" the whole time. Then today someone was playing it in the office and co-workers were talking about it, again I clearly hear "laurel." At first when I heard it I thought it was a giant joke and the people who were hearing "yanni" were just making it up. But I guess people are actually hearing that? What a stupid frickin thing, anyway.
