Neighbor doesn't...

I waste as little time as possible on the grass. I cut it once a ~week with blades about as sharp as rebar, and that's already about 1.5 hours too much. I may change the grass species. I'm thinking bamboo...

What you put down matters a lot. Even winterizer in Oct. I got lazy the last 2 falls and didn't put any down. All my neighbors use landscapers and their grass was greenish throughout winter while mine was brown. It is coming back alive now, but there's a huge difference.

Fertilizer also goes a long way in greening of course. I put it down at the same time as the crabgrass control which should be right around now. But I have a lot of unwanted onion grass which is a nightmare.

I don't know how your neighbor would have green grass without using sprinklers though.

I hate lawns. No matter how much care i put in it ends up getting torn up by deer in the back yard, the dog pisses all over it and creates burn spots. and weeds just keep coming back.

I'm fine with taking care of a lawn I use. But what do you do with a front lawn? I had one for years and all it did was waste my time so it didn't look crappy.

There's this couple who walks their dog every morning on the sidewalk in front of my house. No issues with that. The problem is, that dog pees in the same spot every time and it has burned the grass.

Last night I adjusted the sprinkler time on that zone to spray for 18 minutes at the time that dog normally comes through. Hopefully they will keep their schedule and just detour out into the street as my sprinkler setup douses the sidewalk.

That's a $250 fine here for first offense and $500 per offense thereafter.
I don't like it, but I don't dislike it enough to put different sprinkler heads in as it would require me to also dig trenches and add more sprinkler heads due to how they are placed. These spray water from the curb about 20 feet in to my lawn and everything in between which happens to be the sidewalk as well.
