..I already said our scores aren't that great. I also said they haven't been great, in any stretch of the imagination, for decades. Yet, it hasn't held us back. We still "kick ass" as it were.
We should stop pretending that we want to be Asia, or pretending that we need to emulate a system that just isn't our style. This is all FUD really, pushing this privatized education horseshit everywhere. The current thought is that we are suddenly sliding in these scores. Sorry, we have always been terrible when compared against an eastern standard of rote memorization.
Do we have shitty inner-city schools? yes, of course we do. We also have plenty of top-performing public schools.
Our science and technology is still second to none. I'm not worried about changing something that clearly isn't broken.
