Tonight was one of the best workouts of my life. Seriously. It was leg night and I felt so amazing that I had to come tell about it. I was confident with the squat and aggressive. I did reps more explosively and deliberately, in the way I do bench press reps. I felt my strength really come through in a way that I haven't before. The consistency, reduction of weight, and focus on form are really starting to pay off. I am almost back to my previous squat weight that I lifted before reducing it to focus on form, but this time I am squatting it better.
I swear I felt a pump in my legs and glutes and I have never felt that before to such an extent. My legs felt like I actually HIT them like I can hit other muscles. It was amazing. I wanted to roar like a lion in my garage and scream a primal yell of beasty strength as I paced quickly back and forth, totally high on the pump and euphoria.
I did back squats, then front squats then finished with stiff legged deadlifts and brought it all home with ab wheel rollouts. All very strong and aggressive. Hell yeah bitch. Hell yeah.
I have to add, I think deadlifts have helped me here. I have started going very heavy with the deadlift, as heavy as I can. The last two sets of deadlifts I can barely do 2 or 3 reps. Any more and the weight will rip out of my hands. I need chalk. But I love the dead lifts because I can really go as heavy as possible on those without worry. I am confident with them and go heavy. Since going so heavy I really feel they are carrying over into my leg lifts.
