Still CRT here too, LCD still can't match the price/performance ratio. Next one might be an LCD though, depends what a good 19" or 20" model costs when this one goes.

I've had a 1800fp and a 2001fp and I still went back to a CRT. Neither of the lcds could produce a true black an it was annoying. Apart from that they're awsome.

:music: You are not alone, :music:I am here with you...:music: but not for long, my fcuking Viewsonic 17" CRT just took a dump. Everything just went black, well, almost anyway, the screen is hella dark and I can't see shiet... So I guess LCD I will get.

I'm posting from my television

I don't have any monitor at all so I'm using the TV out on my video card going into my 27" TV in my room.

I've sold 2 LCDs after being less than thrilled with them. Hard on the eyes and I refuse to spend a ton of cash for a high quality LCD (just for the "cool" factor). I'll stick to my Flat screen Sony CRTs (2 - 21" and 2 - 17").

I got one of the 18.1" Dell LCDs, I love it, playing Counterstrike on it right now.. no trails or anything 🙂

I thought LCDs were supposed to be better on your eyes than CRTs? From my own experience it seems like the LCD on my laptop is easier for prolonged use than my CRT is.

I will not change to an LCD until those goddamn pixels stop crapping out all over the screen. CRT FOR LIFE! In fact I will be ordering a Sony 21" within the next month 🙂

I may think about switching to an LCD in a few years.

For now I'm perfectly happy with my pure flat CRT.

The LCDs on my laptops are great, I've got no complaints but the two standalone LCD monitors I had were blurry to the point of distraction.

I don't know. I am just thinking $350 for a good Flat 21" CRT vs. $800+ for a Reasonable LCD. Obviously bang for buck the CRT wins out. Maybe in about 10 years when LCD production can meet the CRT Production rates (Pass QSC / Worthless) then maybe they'll be more reasonably priced.

Not to mention the other day I was watching TV and Gateway was selling a 17" LCD TV for something like $800. WhyTF would you bother?

no, I will never be buying an LCD. Just can't beat the picture of a good CRT.

lay off the crack pipe buddy...

I've owned sgi 1600sw, del 2000fp and now dell 2001fp and they all kick ass in terms of image crispness and color. The 1600sw was a 17in monitor with 16000x1200 native res. Show me a 17 in CRT that can do that and we'll talk...
