Once you go LCD, you wouldn't go back. Plus the price of LCD has gone down significantly and will be even lower on 2004.

From a non-technical, non-quantative standpoint, there's something about the LCD that just makes it so much better than a CRT. Better to the point where once you switch from CRT to LCD, you can't really go back, and its this sorta thing that people who don't have LCD's won't understand. After owning two MAG LCD's (15'' and 17''), whenever I go back to a friend's CRT, there's just this lack of smoothness and finesse by which the LCD displays the picture- a constant smooth transition of pixel rather than a cathode ray tube scanning at insane rates that just makes it so much easier on the eyes and the mind.
So what you're saying is that the pixel blur is almost like motion blur. Since motion blur makes movies look smooth at lower fps, the fact that LCDs take longer than CRTs to update the whole screen doesn't really matter? "Oh look, its all ghosty so its better!"

I have a 21" Hitachi SuperScan 811 and I stare at it almost litteraly all day and I don't get any eye strain, plus I can play games at multiple resolutions (I have an old card right now so I play old games at high res and new games at medium res) with good image quality. And I saved lots of money so I can buy other stuff like new games and a video card to run them.

people tend to compare their new lcd with their old ass faded crt running at a lousy refresh. not quite fair.

i have one of each. lcds still have quite a premium pricewise. will soon comedown.. but not there yet,

Everbody who was suckered into buying lcd's has to say they look great to justify the waste of cash. IF you want to save space then lcd'd are cool but to play games c'mon.
Lcd's look ok in their native res but outside it they suck who in their right mind would pay more money for a monitor with extremely limited res and slower update speed.

I have a lcd at work and it bites but endlosers think it's cool. NO body who has any idea how displays work would consider buying these worthless displays for anything besides watching video and web surfing.
Lcd envy me thinks not. To put it bluntly almost any cheap 19" crt made in 2003 will crush any lcd costing double it's price. That ladies and geeks is called being OWNED!!!

Refurb'd 19" MAG here (hey, it was $90, refurb'd or not), and until it kicks the bucket I won't be getting a new one. Even then I have 2 Dell CRTs lying around, 15" and 17". I probably won't ever buy an LCD - They just can't beat a good CRT without dropping a large amount of money, and even then it's not as good IMO. Even if you convinced me they were superior somehow, I don't think their price/performance ratio is what I'd like it to be. Plasma or somesuch I might consider, but only if I manage to sucessfully rob a bank or something, lol.

I bought a 22" Cornerstone diamondtron monitor a couple years ago. When it kicks the bucket 3-4 years from now, I'll consider an LCD (actually, probably won't have a choice). But until then, this monitor is treating me fine.
