I also remember some old police game. It was text-based, and you controlled a graphical depiction of your character doing stuff that way. It took me forever to figure out how to get into the police car, drive it, etc. Finally bagged a criminal, then I couldn't figure out how to get him into the cell. So annoying. Does anyone remember what this game was? I remember you had to "inspect the car" before driving.

lol I love how if you failed to check your tires before driving out of the parking lot its game over

In one of the other Sierra games (the Laura Bow one I think -- Dagger of Amon Ra) if you tried to cross the street without looking both ways first you got run over. Sierra games were great for things like that.

I've needed to confess this for awhile. I love the storylines and over-the-topness of the Metal Gear Solid series of games. However, I suck...and I mean suck hard at stealth games. The only reason I survived MGS 1-3 is due to Gameshark usage, and with no such devices available on the PS3, I fear I will never see the end of MGS4. I've also probably spent more time in the MGS database you can download on the PS3 than one man really should. I just love the storylines man! I truly wish I could sit and watch someone with leet skillz play through MGS4 at my house, just so I could see the final story unfold.

OT: On a happier note I did finish GoW Ghost of Sparta and Super Mario Galaxy 2 this week!

You can't beat it even on easy (or very easy)?

I'll confess I never got stealth games until playing Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines. Supernatural stealth + katana through the spine = FUN :D

Yeah that actually sounds like Amon Ra. I remember getting squished like 10 times before I finally figured it out. Doesnt matter how long you wait, the squishing is ONLY when you try to cross.

Hahaha your Demon Soul's rant is spot on. It is an odd start to the game, but the game is difficult and rewarding. Losing my first 1000 souls felt like a slap across the face, but sooner or later you catch on.

Ha so I'm not the only one that feels this way! I remember as a kid having infinite patients for games. I would play the same levels over and over again until I finally managed to accomplish the thing. If I got really stuck I would go and look for an FAQ that would help me get through that particular section.

Now-a-days I find I am distracted/and irritated very easily by games. Multiplayer for the most part is a complete write off. I get into Black Ops and most of the time I just get completely owned. I'm lucky to even get a KDR of 1.5 most of the time.

Single player games; well first off if I even try to play more than one game at a time I might as well forget finishing either of them. I like to finish games that I start, so if I'm gonna play a game it has to be *only* that games until it's completed. However if I find I am getting stuck too often in a game I will just give up. If I have to go to a FAQ once or twice fine, but if I need the FAQ just to keep progressing well then I give up.

I tend to like games that have a long drawn out campaign with an increasing difficulty curve. Examples are Mass Effect/ME2, Red Dead Redemption, and Fallout 3 (except for the difficulty curve part). These are all games which I have enjoyed, and finished recently without too much frustration.
