I feel absolutely lame right now

Don't you hate it when you throw a party and no one shows up really? I invited about 30+ people for a party I was planning for this weekend for a few weeks now. Basically there were friends I wanted to do "something" with but couldn't invite them all over to my family thanksgiving party. I still wanted to do something with some friends and decided I'd have a pre-thanksgiving party with no turkey food. I bought about $500 in food, beer, wine, and liquor and told people just show up anytime today and have at it.

I had 4 people show up earlier. That's it. And those were my next door neighbors. Feeling pretty lame right now. That and now I got way too much shit to eat and drink.

🙁 I've had stuff like that happen every once in a while. Sucks a lot. I seek out the RSVPs now. A lot of the time people will decide on the spur of the moment it's too much hassle to go out if they didn't actually commit to it.

Well, a I had about 15+ told me they were going to be there or "try to make it." I sent out a few texts to some, and didn't get anything back either. Really pissed right now as well as depressed.

I was always a fan of the spontaneous party. Nobody gets invited, but somehow they're all over your house. No stress, and it rolls along more organically.

As the saying goes...it sucks to be you...

We've never had turnouts that bad. For many years, my wife threw a huge x-mas party. She'd invite 30 or so people, never less than 20 would show up.

The OP must feed pretty well (and buy lots of good booze) to spend $500. Next time, invite me...😛

Geez. I hope you at least pigged out, got shitfaced, and tried to force yourself on your neighbor's wife . . . or . . . something. 😳

Man, that's grounds to get completely trashed. Very depressing. 🙁
