Can't get into consoles. I bought an XB1 for NHL16 and the appeal wore off quick. I've bought Rocket League and TitanFall 1 & 2, and NHL18, still can't hold my interest for more than once a week, if that. I play FPS mostly so mouse & keyboard are where it's at.

Kids use it for Roblox & Minecraft.
You should try FPS in VR, specifically with the Aim controller. The feeling of "physically" looking down a scope in VR to snipe and pick enemies off is a feeling that is unmatched in non-VR gaming, regardless of what you are using as the controller.

Better than an Xbox I'm sure. I bought one last year and regret it. I got it for Forza because I was feeling nostalgic, but the newer Forza games suck. all random loot box BS and no sense of accomplishment like the old days. I tried a few other games and it just isn't for me. I use it occasionally for Blu-ray, but otherwise it's a waste of space and money. Plus the UI is HORRENDOUS! Took me 5 minutes to figure out how to simply open up a web browser.

@ElFenix, I'm confused why everyone says the gender of his fiancé is a "he" when the OP said it was a "she".

Oh.

Wiktionary said:
Traditionally, the spelling fiancé is used for a man who is engaged, with fiancée being the female counterpart (this is a reflection of the corresponding distinction in French). However, this distinction is not reliably followed today.

I have a PS4 just to play MLB the show...As it's the only decent baseball game available.

The PS4 has better exclusives than the xbone IMO.
Only reason I have a PS4 too. Well that and my kid plays other games, but The Show is the only game I actually play.

I tried console gaming too with an Xbox One S. Didn't last very long. I get too frustrated with shooters on a controller. Ended up playing my PC again. I use my Xbox One S as a 4K Blu-Ray player and for media apps. I don't regret it too much since I got the Xbox next to nothing through some crazy Slickdeals.net stuff.

Definition of fiancée
: a woman engaged to be married

He also mentioned "her" in the original post.

Which can only mean one thing. "They" are likely an MtF transgender. They got engaged as a He, hence why she still goes by "fiance", but currently identifies as a she, hence the "her" reference in the OP.

I believe they would have to get engaged again in order for her to be fiancee.

I'm proud of how progressive this forum is.

I'm very progressive but in this case I am a man and my fiance with one 'e' is a woman :)

Y'all can game on a console using a mouse and keyboard, just buy a translator like a XIM, and it will convert your M/KB movements into that of a controller. There are a lot on the market but the best one is the XIM company.

The thing about shooters is that they're all terrible. Once you've accepted this undisputable fact, going back and forth between pc and console is far less sinful than one might think.

I have Xbox One X. Fun times.

Most do suck. I do like the Battlefield series of shooters and will always pick that up. Not a COD fan. Most others suck, but, now that I have a co-op buddy, I'll be getting Destiny 2 and Far Cry 5 and maybe something else this year. Co-op with a friend, or in this case fianceE, makes a campaign mode worth it to me. Otherwise I just like Battlefield multiplayer.

What do you need for the VR setup for Playstation? My brother has a PS4 (I think it's a non-slim, non-Pro, if that matters) & I've been seeing sales on the PSVR stuff all over the place, although it looks like the base version is missing all of the stuff you need. If I understand it right:

1. Playstation 4, 4 Slim, or 4 Pro
2. PS VR games (disc/download/both?)
3. VR headset kit (HMD, processor unit, cables, etc.)
4. Camera
5. 2x Move controllers (Wii-style things)
6. Aim controller (gun thing, optional)

Not sure if having him piecemeal it would be a better deal or not.

Minimal items needed is the headset + camera. Some games require move controllers, some don't. Some have control schemes with both but usually the move controls are more enhanced.

The Aim controller was bundled with Farpoint and works incredibly well with it and it's an outstanding peripheral. It works with Doom and a few other games too however it's not integrated quite as well (from what I've heard). There is a game coming out in April that was built from the ground up for it as well called Bravo Team which is supposed to be similar to Time Crisis except you control which points you move to. But it's not free control to my knowledge unless they have changed it.

Some games are physical and digital, some are digital only, just really depends.

PSVR works on non-Pro PS4 but the quality of graphics isn't as good. I haven't tried it so I can't compare. But in general, the resolution is noticeably not as good as a PC VR unit. The first VR I tried was the one at the MS store and then tried PSVR and I could instantly notice a FOV and resolution difference. But it still is awesome and doesn't really take away from it.

I personally got the Skyrim bundle because it has v2 of the PSVR, which has HDR pass through and a few other minor tweaks, such as thinner wires and the headphone jack/placement is different. I also recommeud using over ear headphones because it adds a lot more immersion.

I played some uncharted 4 and the last of us. They were fun for a bit but I only got maybe half through each of them.

Great articles, thanks for sharing!

If there's anything that's going to push me to get a PS4, it's this

Bought it ... this f'in forum man. I skipped PS3 so looks like there are a bunch of remasters for games I missed, and this will allow me to finally get rid of my PS2 since its sole purpose is annual or semiannual playthroughs of Crash Bandicoot and/or Spyro the Dragon ... which is getting its own set of remasters this year supposedly.

I don't think it should be a problem. Gamer is on one side and that is, gaming, no matter which platform. There are many games on each platforms that are worth playing. :)

Bundle was $350 and included PSVR, camera, 2 move controllers, and Skyrim. Although I haven't opened Skyrim and don't plan on it, not my type of game.
