One of my friends from back home came down to the city to visit me so I took her to my friend's holiday party. She had a great time and all of my friends liked her. I've known this girl for about 3 years and I've always had a thing for her (I never thought about her while I was with my girlfriend though, just an FYI) and I figured that I might be able to hook up with her while she was down here and we were hanging out.

My plans got foiled by my friend Mike. He's a great guy and one of my good friends, but he fucking cockblocked me last night and hit on my friend. He flirts a lot and it was nothing out of the ordinary so I figured that everything was cool. Well, I get out of the party... and my friend asks me for his number and told me that she thought he was really cute and that she should have hooked up with him.

Needless to say, it was not a good way to end the night. 🙁

Moral of the story: Don't fail like I failed and let things go the friend zone.

You're in the friend zone. He didn't cock block you; she just chose him instead of you. Cockblocking is such nonsense. If the woman doesn't want to fuck you, she won't. Sure, blame it on someone else "stealing your thunder" but if you really had thunder to begin with, she'd be riding you instead of him.
