But ,Danstp to me you are 1 of the very early core members ,I think if you left many others would follow.Same with HB & Mgallik etc.BTW whats changed since you joined? certainly not Anands lack of support!:Q

Also I feel this very thread may now be putting off any new members 🙁
 
I've been doing SETI since the project went public and I joined Team Anandtech shortly after. I started out with one PC then added the rest in my local LAN (3-4 boxes). Now I've got 4 boxes running 24/7 at home and 15 boxes at work. I enjoy being a part of SETI TA and the members in this forum are the greatest, but anyone who has a herd can tell you that it does take time and effort to keep all of them running.

If Anand isn't even going to give us the respect of a response then I'm gone. I'm going to set my own personal deadline. ColinP's Email was sent on 7/14/00. I think one month is more than enough time to respond. If we don't get support or a good reason for not having it by then I'll go to another team. From what I'm reading in this thread I'm not the only one who feels this way so I agree that should some of us chose to leave we should try and stay together. I really hope Anand gives us the support we need and deserve because I'd hate to leave the team. That said, I'm not staying without support or a good reason for not having it. Ignoring this thread isn't going to make it go away...

EDIT: Should it come to it my first vote would be for Ars. Second choice would be Abit.
 
Hate to bump this post myself but I'm going to be out of town until 08/08/00 and considering the moment I think it needs to be seen at the top again. Glad to see the "Call to arms thread" as well. We need support Anand. Please help us out and we'll continue the great job of representing Team Anandtech! Help us out and we'll not let you down! 😀

Its great to see TEAM spirit shining through!!

Personally i couln't give a monkeys if Anand mailed back or not.. I have a great time just chatting on the forums and crunching WU's/blocks/stubs (depending on what mood i'm in 🙂 )

I didn't start in TA because of the Anandtech www page, I came as I knew Ass1, he reckoned that the forums were a cool place..

I hung about, saw what was going on and thought, &quot;Well, It'll be a laugh 🙂 &quot; The last thing on my mind was &quot;Is the owner of the www site gonna support the group?&quot;

Darkone - No flame is going to come from me, I respect the way you feel about this. The problem I have is that it takes a lot of time and energy keeping up a herd of 50 or so. If I am going to keep worrying about this herd I want to be moving up in the rankings much more steadily than we are now. I don't want to leave TA because the people in this forum are awesome. Maybe I will just thin down my herd to my 2 PC's at home and a few manageable boxes at work. I just don't know if it's worth all the trouble of keeping up with so many different boxes along with trying to convince people to leave them on 24/7. Oh well, I got that off my chest.

Before anyone jumps ship,I must tell you now that I have spoken with Anand.I alerted him to this thread. He is now aware of your concerns.He is on his way to Pittsburg to add some more servers to the cluster (he posted on home page this morning)
I don't think he has abandoned anyone now.He is just busy as all of us are.I would expect a reply in the near future in some fashion.
This is just my opinion.

He emailed me this morning.I emailed him this morning seeking permission to use his logo and my reply mentioned this thread.I have sent an Email to collinP to let him know.I could be wrong,but I don't think Anand is kicking Seti to the curb. He is gone now to Pittsburg to work on the servers(Pittsburg?)and probably won't get back to post here until the servers are installed and updated,but at least he knows about this thread from a direct email.
He is in support of the gear store.You know that is my interest,shaking out the wrinkles in copyright infringement.
There are many good things on the horizon. Seti will be recognized,I am sure of it.
 


Well I was just making a suggestion, for now let's just sit tight and see what happens. I think it's very important esp to the SETI team we get some support, esp if we want to be able to recuit and move ahead.

rleach - I hear ya bro. Time to swallow a couple ice cubes. We have a great team here, I hope Anand comes thru for us....but...I hear ya. Tom's Hardware???...still thinking about it.
 
Don't feel too bad. At least Anand *supports* DC in general. Kyle, OTOH doesn't really give a crap about RC5ers and the link that we have on his page was hard to come by. Granted, we're glad we have an RC5 team but we're spread thin, however, we're doing well in the dailies.

As for any other type of DC team @ HardOCP I doubt it unless we get a lot more support from kyle which is highly unlikely. Don't give up getting a link somewhere for S@H, I'm sure Anand will support you guys, he's just a busy fellow.

Good luck to you guys, I will admit Seti looks prettier than RC5 but I like RC5 for some reason. heh 🙂
