second off - it is probably lost. the door inner and door outer are put together solid. the only holes in the door inner are the holes for speaker openings and grab handle openings. other than that, nothing is big enough to get your hand in. you might be able to reach in through your front door speaker (if you have one).

else you are SOL unless you want to remove all of the door handle assembly.

edit - just pay the 7 bucks and get a new DL.

LOL, you've clearly never taken one of those panels off. Those clips are AWFUL, though...worst. idea. ever.

Are the hours that you will spend trying to get the panel off worth the $4 it would cost to get a new license?

"hours"?

Try 10 minutes, tops. It's just a PITA to keep the clips intact.

Man my mom did something similar to me when I was a kid. I had one of those suction cup toys that you could stick to a window. I stuck it on and she decided to roll down the window. ZIP it went in with the window and din't come back out. I was mad lol.

If that were true how would you service the locks, power window motor and assembly? Cut off the outer door skin?

there is one hole that a "door module" is placed in. the whole thing goes in/comes out as one large unit.

Dude, have you EVER in your life taken a door panel off a car before? If you EVER had, you'd know there are more holes in the inner panel than you seem to have in your head.........or maybe not.

how many vehicles have you actually taken the door skin off of?

how would you EVER fix a window roller without being able to access the window (saab)

ive taken off Saabs, a Blazer, an Eclipse, they all have NUMEROUS holes in them.

Since you were "Taping" the License against the Window, I would suggest a wire hanger with a big ball o' tape stuck on the end and go fishing in the door, there should be plenty of small holes to try, If not most everything (Speakers and what not) should screw out and leave openings....... Don't worry about those clips, they are cheap and easily found at dealers and such.........

Yeah, there's a big hole. I get in mine every weekend to try and fix the window motors on my Cherokee...
