i down-graded from 800mhz to 266mhz - first impressions

You should also be concentrating on getting LARGER components!
Full-height hard drives, full-height 5.25" floppy disks... maybe even the awesome 8" floppy!
If you REALLY want an upgrade, how about a nice 100MB hard drive the size of a washing machine?
 
I have a P4 2.2 and a PII 300 that I use side by side evey day. For 95% of "office" applications there is no difference. A modern hard drive on an old box will make it much faster than the old drives of a few years ago. R

yeah, thought about it. basically, not very much. the only thing it will cost is energy. 43w vs. 24w comes out to about $3/month at most.
 
What the hell is this? You are spending more energy on a lesser computer? wow this thread is pissing me off, I wish I could just erase it from my mind like in Eternal Sunshine

fortunately i can probably get a celeron 300a from my friend. that thing will be 18w. or maybe i can get a 533 coppermine celeron which only uses 11w
