Speaking of stupid, that comment doesn't make you look any smarter.

I could name several reasons why I use Linux for my workstation, but since I actually do work on it, as opposed to just writing about girls I'll never meet and cars I'll never own on an internet forum, I don't think anyone would understand those reasons.

I think using Linux was more attractive five years ago than today. Windows has gotten all round better to use which makes Linux much less attractive to the non enthusiast.

the day that I don't have to worry about viruses at ALL in windows or spyware is the day that I might actually agree with you.

And by not worring, I mean, it is pointless to use a anti-virus scanner and running ad-aware.

And that's just one of the many examples I could bring up.

There's less linux viruses because the dorks that make viruses all decided to hate windows. If any operation system became as popular popular as window there'd be tons of people poking holes in it. I do agreed that linux is a bit more secure than windows overall,

That being said linux has it's uses but I really wouldn't want to use it for normal everyday type stuff. It makes a nice CS server though and MythTV will be really cool, assuming I ever get it setup.

My computer did not come with a copy of windows, In fact the last machine that came with windows that I bought was a gateway pentium 2 450 back in the 90's. I did spend the money to get a copy of windows for my girlfriends box (who is now my wife and now uses linux). But I have no issues with linux. I know what i'm doing, its easy, and it just works.
