If you aren't hip then just go ahead and wear cheap ugly clothes. We're not looking down at you at all although we'd love to see you try a bit to come to our level of sense in style and fashion. I personally like to fit in and look attractive with my fabulous trendsetting friends in fashion and could never tolerate such garbage in our groups who can't spend $100 on a piece of wear. Fashion is very important in this world because without it, the world would be an unpleasant place to live. I just bought my girlfriend a $400 wallet from Marc Jacobs and now she looks even more lovely.

Why do you all assume that an individual wearing over-priced and expensive clothing is insecure? What makes you think that an individual wearing $200 jeans is shallow? Of course, there are too many individuals that wear labels to fill a gap in their life, but not everyone is such a tool.

While clothing is very good example of where a higher price tag doesn't necessarily translate to better quality not everyone buys clothing with the expectation that it be extremely durable and last forever. There are many inexpensive, well-made clothiers available, and there are just as many over-priced, poor quality "designer" brands. (Express springs to mind.) Having said that, there are also many very expensive, extremely well-made designer options available to the consumer. One just needs the ability to sift through the over-priced crap.

You, the computer nerd, cannot dismiss a $200 pair of jeans as worthless because they're not marketed toward you. The same can be said for a $600 video card. Worthless to the many, but valuble to some. You may be content in your $15 jeans, programming and gaming on your $3000 PC, but there arises no need for you to dress in trendy clothes. You're so above being "trendy" or "cool."

I buy the clothes that I do not because of the price tag, label, or to fulfill some insecurity, but because I've found that in order to find stylish, proper-fitting clothing one needs to spend a little bit more. With one exception, I have not had a single article of clothing give up on me in recent years. Any articles I tire of are given to charity or handed down to friends and family.

Just as I am certain that there are some of you kicking about in jeans bought in the 90's, there are individuals contributing to this forum with computers bought in the 90's. Remember, to each his own.

You are absolutely correct. i truly beileve that 99.99999% of the time, you get what you pay for.
I personally think that 220$ is a little to much than i could spend, but i be they wear like iron and will not fall apart after 3 washes.
And, it is true that the more expensive the clothing, the better it will, fit, fall, lay on the body.

As others have said, it just depends on the type of person you are and what you like. Some people like clothes and are willing to spend money on it...others like computer hardware and are willing to spend the money on it.

I wouldn't buy $250 pair of jeans but I have no problem spending money to buy something like this. Scroll on down to the bottom if you're interested in the price ;) It's what I like so that's what I spend my money on.

Only on a geek forum would a discussion of expensive jeans degenerate into a computer parts comparison thread.

okay, okay, I typed that one out quickly....

person b can play new games with high FPS and good image quality, how does that sound?

and what, did I offend you, are you one of those 'tards who buys those jeans that are already worn looking, I apologize that I found out you don't have a personality, and you have to compensate by buying jeans that make it look like you do.

I didnt read the rest of this thread, but the jeans in your link are that expensive probably because they are made in the U.S.

Old Navy, Gap, BR, etc. are made in SE Asia by extreme low wage workers/children?

I can safely say that I make at least 10x more salary than someone in the SE Asian countries who is my age. So, the price difference of jeans makes sense.

you have got to be kidding me if you thing $10 jeans look great

maybe if you get some lucky clearance dealie but by and large you will not get a good pair of jeans that look and feel good for $10

i am more likely to spend $50-$60 on jeans and $200 on a vid card

and the vid card probably has 80-85% the performace the $600 one and the spending higher on jeans doesn't really get you much more

i spend a fairly large amount on clothes and comp stuff

2x20" LCD
3 Ghz Prescott
1 GB Ram
system for about $1700 from dell

imo if you pay $4000 for some dual Athlon 64 with 2 GB mem from Alienware you are a far bigger fool than a person that spends $200 on jeans

because at least they only wasted $150 while you blew the extra $2300 on something that will be worth half its value in a year
sure the jeans will be worthless but they will more than likely outlast the comp

if you had to pick from 1 of 2 things
1.) buy all your clothes from KMART and have a nice comp and game systems with games etc.
2.) have some emachine and a nice wardrobe

give me option 2 any day of the week

More power to you if you can afford a $500 CPU or $200 Jeans.
LOL, if you need to wear overpriced jeans to get some action then you are severly lacking. That's the good thing about keeping in shape and having an athletic build, all clothes look good on you no matter the cost.

actually thats not exactly true. i have a lot of trouble finding clothes that fit my shoulders and chest but are the right length and arm length

You should clarify that 99.99% of ALL designer goods on eBay are fake.

look get your heads out of your asses, if you odnt care what you look like, $10 jeans are fine, but if you do and enjoy wearing fine clothing, get some good jeans.

go feel these $170-$200 jeans and you will know why they are so much. they fit a lot better and are made from a higher quality denim.

FYI, there are alot of fakes, but if you buy from a reputable seller who makes a living selling designer labels, you can rest assured, it those assholes out of HK, Thailand, and Russia that mainly sell the fakes and get away with it.
