Currently I have 1 desktop, collecting parts for building two more desktops, and a wireless laptop which will be all on the same home network. My problem is I don't trust the security on my U-Verse 2WIRE router. I had an earlier problem on this router in which it would not let me modify a setting in order to setup my home LAN, so I had to talk to U-Verse's tech support. They said, "Sure, we can fix that for you, give me one minute, then push the rest button on the back of the router." Well it fixed the problem, but I don't like ANYONE having access to my router, which can then access my home LAN.
This is what I'd like to do, and let me know if it is feasable:
1) Set up a LAN using my Linksys WRT54GL Wireless-G Broadband Router
2) Then connect the Linksys router to the UVerse 2WIRE router.
3) Configure all PCs to only have 60GB SDD's for applications and OS
4) Build a Raid 1 server and have all sensitive data stored on the server drives (how do I isolate this server from the outside world?)
Any instructions on how to connect these two routers without causing conflicts would be greatly appreciated.
