There was no question, just a polite statement that he does not like 7.2. Its really none of my business so I wont try and convince him to stick with RedHat 7.2, even though he could probably install KDE himself if 7.2 wont do it on the install.

Dunno, I got KDE working without any problems. KDE 2.2-10 that comes with it is considerably faster than RH 7.1's KDE 2.1.

Yeah. Both KDE and Gnome are bloated. Try something realy fast and easy to handle - XFCE. :)

I was running 7.0 and manually rpm-ed up to KDE 2.1 and I loved it. So I then upgraded my whole install to 7.2. KDE will not run at all now and Gnome is very slow. I actually think it might be some other package slowing it down, maybe xinetd.

But if I can't run KDE I'm going back to 7.1

this has nothing to do with red hat 7.2 per se. but i dont like the flashing "sub"-icon in the cursor when applications are loading in the new kde.
