Play some BF3 and rip up some TDM

....OR....

Watch Phantom Menace on Blu Ray (as I just got the newly released Blu Ray Star Wars set). Please note, I have not seen the 3 "new" Star Wars'

here's what you want to watch in the first 3 movies -

the first ~5 minutes of episode III and the last ~10 minutes of episode III.

oh and i guess the last 10 minutes of episode II.

That bad?

I just picked up eps IV, V, VI on BRD even though I could have easily picked up the 1-6 package. I feel bad enough watching the "remastered" 4-6 with some of the awful, awful changes, I can't even imagine sitting through Eps 1-3 ever again. Episode 1 is one of the worst movies I have ever seen, and that is not an exaggeration. The ONLY reason to watch Eps 1-3 is to see them a single time, and then go to http://redlettermedia.com/ and watch his reviews - then let the hilarity roll.

I'd say that the Plinkett reviews redeem the time wasted on the films so much that I actually recommend watching them just for the entertainment value of watching his reviews next.

I cut school to see Episode 1 when I was in high school.

given the choice between that movie and reciting conjugations in Latin II, I'd have rather been in school that day.

You can fwd all the movies to the last 20 minutes and watch the saber fights at the end. Don't bother watching the rest like watching paint dry

Well, I played some BF3, then I watched Ep I. You guys weren't lying. If it weren't for getting to look at Natalie Portman I probably would have shut it off. Maybe Ep. II tomorrow

If you have 15 minutes, you can watch the entire "first" (by which I mean the bullshit last "1-3") trilogy on fast forward, which is basically enough time to realize that they are completely awful. Actually, I take that back. I like them more than I should, I know, but I just can't help it; they're Star Wars (kind of). The first one is... meh. The second one... even more "meh" but maybe slightly moreso, but capitalized. So, you know, MEH. The third one... that's actually a decent movie. It's still no OT (original trilogy, son), but, come on, it's actually a pretty good movie on its own merits, and if it didn't have to live up to an impossible standard, people would still be talking about it literally weeks after its release. OK, so the prequel trilogy kind of sucks balls by comparison, but they aren't terrible, just uniquely uninteresting, poorly made, and a travesty of a truly fantastic IP. Apart from that, they're gravy.

Play BF3. Never watch films I, II, and III.

nonono. Watch films I, II, and III; THEN watch the Plinkett reviews! The reviews are FAR better than the actual films but you can't enjoy them without having seen the films first.

Another high quality way to enjoy III is to watch the english->chinese->english subtitle lulz version. You should be able to find it floating around the interwebs. What they did was take the english script, and google translate to chinese, then back to english again. And those will be the subtitles you see. Pretty hilarious.

But I can't emphasize this enough. After seeing I-III, watch the plinkett reviews!

Come on, the pod race was cool. In a video game cutscene sort of way. ^_^

I don't want to go on a long arsed rant about the prequels (we had a thread for that) but let's just say I think they were made as a pure cash-in. They lack the same heart that the originals had.

I was literally on the edge of my seat during the entire pod race scene hoping Jar Jar might fall to a "tragic" death.
