Most of them takes forever and they come up with excuses to not give you your money back... how are they even legal?

On a side note... Dell obviously knows who bought computers from them since they have to SHIP it to you... why do you still have to send in a rebate form and fill in your serial numbers and attach an invoice? It's stupid, it should at least be an automated rebate!

I have a rebate sitting right here that I have to send in for my SanDisk Cruzer Micro. It's $10.00. I'm going to send it out today.

I don't do rebates anymore. It just leads to no rebate and me arguing with an english-incompetent Indian dude over the phone.

Considering Dell is both the manufacturer AND the seller, I find it preposterous that they don't just (gasp) lower the price.

Rebates exsist b/c they know that common sense...isn't all that common. They have the numbers, but there are a certain amount of people who don't even bother sending in rebates. Either they forget, don't care, or whatever. Then, out of the people that do send them in, they know a certain amount of people will legitimately fvck them up.
