I don't get people who say stuff like this.

Even if the M3 WAS out of warranty that would be a laugh.

I enjoy working on cars, so warranties have always seemed to me to be more of a hassle than they are worth. Sure, some people have good experiences, but lots of people get their claims denied, insanely slow service, or upcharges on incidentals which were "not covered by warranty".

Myself, I'd rather have a dependable, fun, and luxurious used car that I enjoy driving and know is well maintained than a questionable "new" econobox that's always in the shop.

I get that. I like working on cars, but lately I don't have the time.

My warranty has gone exactly as promised and I use a great shop that knows what they are doing.

I paid $200 for the deductible and I got my $1700 headunit replaced with a brand new one. I paid $200 before for another repair that would have been $700 out of my pocket.

I can cash my warranty out still for a profit based on those repairs and more.

I wouldn't trade my '10 Accord V6 for 3 New Kias.

There is a reason their resale is less than 50% after 2 years.

This is ideal. You can then relate to how a person bought their car without sounding like an asshat like the person the OP is mentioning.

If someone mentions they bought theirs used, you bring up your M3. If they say they bought new, Mazda 3. This way you don't rock the boat.
You, sir, fking winning.

OP I presume you let him say these things without countering his points? Still, it's a dick thing to say anyway after somebody has already paid and just nah nah nah nah nah look how much you overpaid as he thought he was doing.
