Where I live,

Nordstrom, Raley's, Belaire, Safeway, and, if you have to, Trader Joes. You can avoid the ghetto in most of those places.

I've recovered from Wal*Mart and Target. Been at least 5 years since I've been in either. Hell, it's hard to go to Sears these days, except, when I can make a bee-line to the tools, and get out within 60 seconds. ;)

What I can't get at those stores, comes from dumpster diving at Circuit City, Best Buy, or Hollywood Video. I got all the hookups! :D

You should know, you're one of them.

Target is too far way to drive to, so I stick mostly to wal-mart with a once in a blue moon visit to k-mart.

Target is upscale? I've always put Target, Wal-Mart, and K-Mart on approximately the same level.

Target has higher prices thus less foot traffic thus a cleaner nicer store. Walmart can be a very clean and nice store until you crazy shoppers come and tear it apart.

I would actually work at walmart over target, the pay is better from what I know.

"I don't care what anyone says
Target shoppers are no better than Wal-Mart shoppers"

Wow. . .did somebody actually say that to you? I thought most people just realized that went without saying. You need some less stupid friends.

I'm certainly not going to drive an extra 20-25 minutes to go to Target instead of Wal-mart.
And it does depend on location, in my area there's a Target, then a Targhetto.

I got my 50" LCD TV on Clearance for $1100 when it retailed for $2500. I owe Target my second born. I'd give em' my first born but I've grown rather fond of him.

Seriously though, you CANNOT beat Targets clearance deals. I can walk out of there with a weeks worth of STYLISH clothes for $100 or less sometimes. Can't say the same about WalFart on either price or style points.

Target FTW!

BTW, all of my Targets seem to relax me and are not prone to the issues you speak of, whereas WalFart gives me a migraine and I usually get so fed up I just leave my cart in the aisle and walk out.

I ONLY hit WalFart if what I need isn't available at Target or a small local shop.

... Target clothes are just as crappy as Wal-Mart clothes. I've had both and won't ever buy them again. I'll pay more for more quality ;).

Target is just for Wal-Mart shoppers who want to feel classier; there is little actual difference in customer population between the two, at least where I live. Personally, I dislike Target at the moment, as I see nothing that I would have to go there to buy, but this could change with age. Also, the elitist attitude Target shoppers get confuse me. They are still shopping at a crappy, below average conglomeration of random products, but treat it as if they were in one of the finest specialized markets.

Bashing Wal-Mart is just the fun and trendy thing to do, like how bashing Sony is and how bashing "M$" was.

There's a super target and super walmart close by to each other in my college town, and it is by far nicer and less chaotic going to the target. I've compared shopping receipts between the two before, when buying similar items, and it's not that much more expensive than walmart.

Lately, though, I've just been going to the walmart marketplace that's 5 minutes down the street from both of those super stores. It's soooo freaking quiet, I love it.

Not nearly as confusing as your Elitist Attitude.

Elitist attitude? Where? Are you referring to how I pointed Target out as a "crappy, below average conglomeration of random products"? Well, it is true. Still, I did not point myself out as above that. I don't have the money to shop a grade-A stores for anything, from groceries to clothing. Trust me; I get a lot of my clothes from Ross (if you know what that is).

I am not saying that I am above Target; I am just saying that some get illusions of grandeur from some reason while shopping there. People need to realize where they are, and that it isn't much different from other supercenters such a Wal-Mart.

I conclude that you missed the point of my post, and instead decided to attack me directly instead of the actual issue. :)

Not to change th subject, but I went to the Florida State Fair last week and the Freak Show they bad absolutely sucked, it was pathetic. I've seen better freak shows at Wal*Mart (or Target or K Mart).
