This mouthy mom of executed American prisoner James Foley is lashing out at the US govt for not doing more to help her kid who was dumb enough to go into a war zone. Okay yes it sucks for you, but your son was stupid enough to go into hostile territory. He was over 18 and presumed mentally competent. Therefore HE ASSUMED THE RISK. IT WAS HIS OWN DAMNED FAULT, NOT THE US GOVT's. Same with the foolish aid worker Mueller.

The US govt has already expended time, manpower, $$$ on attempted rescue operations and intel gathering. Sometimes those rescue teams arrive right after the hostages got relocated and have to return empty-handed. Sometimes they engage the enemy in firefights during rescue operations. What if one of them dies in the process? Or what if a rescue chopper of would-be attackers goes down and those troops are captured and burned alive? Would this mouthy mom Diane Foley be able to look into the eyes of the parents of those troops who died trying to rescue her son? Would the lives of those troops be worth less than the life of James Foley?

We don't normally negotiate for hostages because of the greater long-term good. Don't create incentives for others to target you. We shouldn't have made an exception for Bergdahl and definitely not now.

And just what good do you think you're doing there, anyway? Let the native journalists handle the journalism there. As for aid workers, there have been times where Daesh (ISIL) takes those aid boxes and slaps their logo on them and claims Daesh is helping the poor. Plus, you know that Daesh is going to eat first, anyway, so we're just feeding Daesh. If they have leftovers they take credit for it. Screw that! Let the "civilians"--many of which are Daesh sympathizers and families of Daesh--starve until they are desperate enough to attack their occupiers. Or if they are Daesh sympathizers definitely let them starve.

Mrs. Foley, if you are going to say anything at all, then act like the Japanese families of the hostages, where they repeatedly APOLOGIZED to the Japanese govt for placing the Japanese govt in such an awkward situation. Japan had to spend time, money, $$$, in an effort to rescue those two numbskull Japanese hostages. The parents of the hostages knew it, and they were apologetic about it. Why can't you be grateful and apologetic like the Japanese families, Mrs. Foley, instead of acting like an ugly, entitled brat?

Parents of dead children are often emotional. I don't have a problem with her complaining in any fashion, not that I really care what she has to say. Her son wanted to be a journalist and took it upon himself to go over there.

I can't say I don't care what happens but practically there is no real chance for an American captive. All that a rescue attempt would do is result in more deaths.

Then that should further deter morons from entering war zones, especially war zones that they are not welcome in.

But this is the fundamental principle of the welfare state. The government must protect us from our bad choices.

Like bankruptcy laws, enshrined in the US Constitution by our nanny-state Founding Fathers/Framers of the Constitution.
