http://www.seagate.com/ww/v/in...nVCM100000dd04090aRCRD, so i dl this software, i dont know why? i dont really even need it. So after installing it, it asked me to restart, i did not read why it wants me to restart, i just clicked ok. after restart, i dont get any display on the screen, the bios are not displayed, i hear everything starting normally but nothing shows up on the screen, i tried resetting the bios but nothing happens, reinstalled my gfx card but still nothing comes up on the screen?

Anyone have a clue about what might of happened?

Assuming this is not a joke thread, you installed MaxBlast, which is a Maxtor-branded utility for wiping hard drives. You have essentially erased everything on your hard drive.

I'm hoping you had a backup.

not a joke, i was looking to update my hard drive driver, i didnt know that it will do that, i though it was software that requires a restart to work properly, i think i just learned a lesson, but if windows and everything is erased, atleast the bios would show up?

Every time I've erased a hard-disk, I've simply set the BIOS to boot from CD, and then installed Windows from the CD.

I've never dealt with flashing the BIOS, or what to do if you can't access it. Sorry. Search some other threads to see if you can find the answer or hopefully someone else can give you a reply.

Good luck!

Installing Maxblast does not wipe a hd. You have to go through several steps, with warnings to do it.

There are no hd drivers that you need to install from the hd maker's site.

Even if you did erase your hd, it would not cause vid output failure.

Some info might help i.e. hardware config, any prior symptoms?

no symptoms really, only thing that was weired was when i boot, for some reason i had to press esc to manually select a hard drive, it will only boot windows if i choose a hard drive manually by pressing esc

amd 4400
8600 gt
jetway gt4-slig-g (mobo)
xp redline 4000 2* 512
windows xp
2 * 200 gb matrox Hd

OK - manually get into Windows and UNINSTALL that software. TYhat may help. Another option is to boot with your Windows CD/DVD and do a repair install.

i was able to do that before i installed that software, now i have nothing, when i start i hear everything start normally, but no display at all.. i am still wondering how the hell a computer stops working after a damn software install, and it asks for a simple restart after the installation and after a simple restart all the sudden it fuc%ing stops working...

you'll need to wipe any psrtition info on the HDD with your XP/Vista disk, and then make a new partition and reload windows from scratch.
