My parents went to the Occupy St. Paul rally and they both voted.

I think I will vote; I researched the city council candidates in my area and only one of them appeals to me. Which is interesting because this is the first election in which we'll have ranked voting. The only thing is I'm pretty sure the one guy I like is also the one who is almost guaranteed to win, but you never know with low turnout elections so I think I'll go anyway.

I voted. Then I had to defend my right to vote as some assclown (read filthy, vote supressing Republican Party scumbag) protested my signature on the ballot mailer. As a result of this Republican prick's attempt to deny me my vote, I have to re-register before the next election.

Pro tip (used by pros even): Go get the list of registered voters. Look at party affiliation. Protest the signatures of folks who aren't affiliated with your party. You don't need a reasonable basis just "It looks funny". And voila, extra paperwork for that voter.

Not always the case. What if you work in a remote location where you're an hour or more away from your polling place?
There are many scenarios where a voter might not have the time to drive to his/her polling place during a 30 or 60 minute lunch break...not to mention the possibility of working overtime or long days that would keep you away from the polls on voting day?

The law does not require that you be paid for the time you take to vote...merely that your employer allow you to take the time if needed.
