The original series >> all.

Flipphones are where it's at.

Best phone I ever had was a Nokia stick phone. Nice keys, easy to read display, and it had a flashlight. I especially like the flashlight.

Give me my 6120!!! Best phone ever made. Sure you could cook an egg on it if it went to analog, so what?

I know they're popular, but I'm surprised at how many people seem to be jumping on the new version.

new features look cool, but not so amazing that I'd dump my last-gen iPad that's working perfectly.

Maybe theres so many owners that even if they only buy every other generation they still have a shitload of sales.

I had the 6190, and in fact I still have it. GSM so it's better than the 6120. ;)

My mother-in-law wants the new iPad Air. So I have to buy one and ship it to her as a present. This will be the fourth iPad I've bought for others and none for myself. My wife has iPad 1, 2, and 4.

its not the same

The quality on the 6120 was out of this world. I could make a call ANYWHERE. Bag phones didn't even get as good of signal. I always kept mine in field test mode, it was awesome seeing DB's when other people had no service.

Sounds like me. I have spent a ton on Apple products the last 5 years but use none. The closest thing I use to an Apple device is my primary hackintosh desktop

I own multiple iOS devices, and two Android devices. These include both an iPad 2 and a 2012 Nexus 7.

Just saying "user-friendly enough" is probably oversimplifying things. The Nexus 7 is fine for my tablet needs, but I couldn't wait to replace my Android phone with an iPhone 5s.

It really depends on what you do and how you do it.

I'm all-Apple at the moment: Laptop is a Retina Macbook Pro (work-provided), personal laptop is a standard MBP, phone is an iPhone 5, and my external display is a 27" Apple Cinema Display (work-provided). I had a Windows setup at my previous job and thought it was fine. I'm a professional UI/UX designer so I like to play around with as many different UIs as I can... you always learn something when switching between different ones. :p

My friend was just asking me which last-gen iTouch she should get for her 7-year-old, something relatively recent that could run modern apps but wasn't going to cost a bundle for a kid. I was shocked that only the latest 5th-generation iPod Touch was supported under iOS7. The last 4th-gen model only goes up to iOS6, and the 4th-gen model is the oldest model to support iOS6!

That's insane!! I've been whining about Android fragmentation & lack of manufacturer updates since day one, but seriously Apple?! And then they go ahead & support the ancient iPad 2. Makes no sense haha.

They didn't release a new iPod touch after the A4 version until *after* the iPhone 5 was released. The A4 iPod touch is 3-year-old hardware and 256MB RAM just doesn't work with iOS 7.

To be fair, 256mb RAM barely works in iOS6.

Ooooops I mean iOS5.
Yup, although running the iPhone 3G with iOS 4 is worse. The iPhone 3G only has 128 MB RAM.

I think we're seeing a pattern here... CPU speed is great, but memory amount is even more important.

I'm curious. What does she do with 3 iPads, particularly the ancient original iPad?

Yup. I really wish Apple had gone with 2GB this round...

They charge you $100 for 16 gigs of flash storage. How much do you think they would charge for another gig of memory speed?

Apple is a master at overpricing things. I'm not looking down on them for it, good for them. I'm just amazed that people still pay for it.

"I've got the 64 gig iPhone!"

Congrats..you just spend an extra $200 when most phones allow that much storage for the price of a $30 memory card.

Does the iPad use a different external memory card than Android tablets?

Was kind of thinking of buying the new iPad Air 16GB and adding a 64GB memory card.

Can't do it. Apple accidentally forgot to include a memory card slot in every idevice ever.

After actually using the iPad, I can see the appeal for it. Compared to our galaxy tab, screen is clearer and much more responsive. Functionality is much simpler and intuitive, even if it is more restrictive.

Good for someone who doesn't want to fiddle with technology before using it.

I caved and will now admit that tablets are handy. A tiny touchscreen computer that you can use for many day-to-day tasks without going blind, for a very modest amount of money? Yep, Apple hit the nail on the head with that one.

...then they increased the price 400%. And people still bought it.

Anyone who spend $4-600 on an iPad when they can get a comparable Android tablet for 1-200 is a fucking idiot.

Can you show me a $100-$200 Android tablet with the same size, quality of screen, battery life, performance and long term support as an iPad?

I'd like to see this mythical device.

Nook HD+

Fantastic screen, decent speed, and I can use it all week without charging.
