Still no pics with it on your boobs

I don't know why you want that so bad.

more plz

can'tyou go to your family doctor and then just have to pay the co-pay 10-20 bucks?

I could, but they charge 35.00. I am just keeping it in a splint and dealing with it until it gets better.

As long as the pain is manageable, able to bend it and keep it splinted you should be alright

I think it's funny that people are so blind enough not to do their own self diagnosis. Hmm, finger still moves, but it may still be broken, let me as ATOT.

If I recall, there was a movie in which a girl was uh...stroking her clitoris, and then broke her finger...I'm not sure if the two events were related, but this thread reminded me.

And you took that first picture just so you could "flip off" all of ATOT while sort of satisfying the demand for boobs!

So, exactly what did that rogue kitchen counter do? It LOOKS like you jammed i. That hurts like a mofo.

The only REAL reason to go to the doctor is for x-rays to make sure there's no damage, or if it's broken, to make sure there's no splinters or anything else that could cause more damage in the finger.
As many others have said, most likely, all the doctor will do is splint it and give you some naproxen (aleve) and maybe a mild pain killer.
Aleve is far better than ibuprofen at helping to relieve the inflammation and swelling. Ice should be applied several times per day, for 15-20 minutes at a time. (myself, I like to alternate ice and heat, but it's not usually doctor recommended)
Take care of the "finger," show it to everyone you can. (it's not often you can flip everyone off without repercussion) :D
Elevate it above the level of your heart if it starts throbbing.
That can make a big difference in comfort level.

I've broken or jammed every finger in both hands at least once in my life, and it really interferes with my typing. I can't use the pinky fingers to do any of the "reaches" that proper typing demands, so I make the ring fingers do double duty. (cost me an "A" in basic keyboarding at college. :disgust: On myy final typing test, I scored 77 wpm with 2 errors, and I still got a dammed "B" because of my technique.

Splint it, but keep it bent... no straight splint or you'll have a bitch of a time regaining full movement if you have it like that for much more than a week.

Ice the crap out of it if you haven't already.

That huge swollen "cap" over the first joint (closer to the knuckle) doesn't look right IMUnprofessionalO. Your finger is straightened, so it should be flatter/more repressed. Might want to get it checked out. Joint could be messed up.

this should make for a solid month or so of satisfying shenanigans.

After viewing the pics, I'm even more convinced.

Sorry, no pics yet.

Not broken. Ice for 48 hrs and heat after that.

Edit: How did this happen? We demand a story! A story with naked girls is even better.
I was attacked by my kitchen counter. No naked girls were present at the time, although that would make things more interesting.

The research I have done says that it can still be broken even if you can move it. Although, the pain has subsided in the last 12 hours.
Yep, I con confirm that. I got into a fight few years ago and broke my pinky finger. When I realized it was all purple and swollen (it didn't hurt though oddly) I had decided to make sure and visited a doctor. At first they said it was sprained but because the swelling was so bad they wanted me back after a few day's. Upon checkup, the X-ray revealed it indeed was broken but it had started healing, so they had to yank on my finger and re-break it, so they could make sure it heals more proper.

I'd say ice it up for a while and either buy a splint (few bucks at walgreens) and save up a few extra bucks for a doctors visit.

BTW, could be a sprain, could be broken. I hurt my pinky in highschool but didn't think it was broke, never went to see a doctor. Looking at it now, you can definitely tell that it was broken. I also sprained my left ring finger in highschool. That actually hurt worse, took longer to heal and become mobile. You won't know for sure until the swelling goes down some and you can assess the bone/joint structure.

Also:

I sure with additional angles and a lower cut blouse you could easily get ATOT to pay your copay for you...

The swelling has gone down since last night.

The picture of my finger on my chest actually provided a nice backdrop to show the bruising of my finger. I don't feel that any other pics are needed at this time. But, thanks for the suggestion. :)
