After those pics I'm inclined to say that Dr. Mombo (along with his name) is, in fact, awesome.

One thing to watch with the new tank, if he can fit behind any of the rocks and get stuck vertically, they like to do that and drown...

This is funny. I know someone who had a pet lizard and it always let this one particular cricket live but ate all of the other insects introduced to its habitat.

Well, I should probably mention the "how i got the turtle" story now while I'm all reminiscent. There is a beautiful little slice of nature at a state park called Blue Hole here. In the middle of a hike I found the little guy on the trail (almost stepped on him) so I thought I should just take him to water and let him go (he somehow made it like a good half mile away from the water). When I got him there it was pretty clear he couldn't swim well enough for the current but being semi-aquatic I knew he would die on land. I took him in and have loved every moment for the last umm....3~4 years now I guess.

i wish i could get my goldfish to reproduce, then maybe the turtles would stop eating the plants. fish are cheap compared to the plants!

You can always use a plastic bin to grow the plants. Keep some in the tank and some in the bin and swap them around as they get nibbled down and let them grow back.
