Whohoo! Took me about 1/2 a day but I've got Linux installed on my old computer now and it's running a dedicated Counterstrike server at work! :) Linux is awesome, I probably won't have to touch the box ever again now - I can do all my maintenance from home via telnet; restart, configure, edit, everything :D A matter of fact, the box doesn't have a monitor at all, no mouse, etc. :D

Oh yeah, you guys can join if you want. I don't know how good your pings will be, but if you're around the northern Illinois area, it should be decent. The server is running on a 6Mb/sec internet connection (4 full T1s, 1.5Mb up and downstream).

I'm the admin so keep an eye out for me. My cs handle is [PLP]Haste. I'm off to do some Economics and I'll be on the server later tonight.

Server info:

[Morris T1s] Hastezone CS v1.0
204.248.52.19:27015
cs.uti.com
Player limit: 16 Players (soon to be 18 or 20)
Extra maps in rotation: de_rats (can be found on the internet)

Just add cs.uti.com in the console or add server cs.uti.com, I have all the DNS info entered to make it easier :) If it gets laggy it's probably because you don't have good routes to this area. I ping 135ms via a 56k dialup modem. You can email me at hastezone@uti.com. Whohoo! Linux rocks!

DNS lookup of cs.uti.com failed.
Ping to 204.248.52.19 (vertigo.uti.com): 146 ms. (DSL connection)

It may be 4 T1s, but their backbone to the net is probably some sort of ISDN line ;)

LOL.. I work for the ISP, brutha ;)

Their backbone is a DS3 (Tier 1 ISPs). Nice try, though. Bad routes happen. We have two T1s from XNet and two from QWest, the biggest Tier 1 ISPs in this area.

Pretender: As for your DNS problem, it looks like the DNS records were somehow reversed again. Try it now, it's fixed.
