I DID get screwed on eBay

Inspired by mzkhadir's other thread

Advertised in eBay listing What I bid on & won

did NOT equal what I actually received after winning What arrived.

I stupidly sent the seller a cashier's check. Dumb move, naively overly trusting of me.

Phoned him, started thinking he & I were cooperating in working the problem out, during which time my opportunity to leave feedback on eBay expired. So I couldn't leave negative feedback.

Then next day there's a recorded message saying his tel # is no longer in service.

So YOU REMEMBER THIS:
don't EVER pay on eBay by any method where you can't get help from PayPal or your credit card company.

Haha, I never never never pay with anything other than my amex. Paypal is useless.

ebay should still have some sort of reimbursement up to a certain amount of money. I would check up on that.
I was scammed a long time ago on yahoo auctions, and they reimbursed me $225.

I got scammed out of a few SNES games on ebay back when I was like 16. I knew I had no recourse. Since they were only worth like $25 I took it as a life lesson to not be so trusting in the future.

Feedback can be given for up to 90 days. Are you saying that you 2 were hashing this out for over 3 months? If so you can always try this:
If you need to leave feedback for a transaction that is more than 90 days old, you may do so using the "single transaction form" link located on the Leave Feedback page.

I beg to differ, Some douchebag broke into my Paypal account and charged 5000 dollars to it. I immeadiately filed a fraud report with Paypal and was cleared of all charges after only a 3 day investigation.

Yah I have learned to stick with Paypal and their terms. Only ship with a company that offers tracking (like UPS or FedEx). Only ship to verified addresses. Credit card fraud is huge though, Paypal is ridiculous when it comes to dealing with chargebacks. I've gotten burned more than once, but until/unless Google Checkout gets more prominent there's really no other good option. I wish you could setup an account with Paypal for doing large transactions without having to accept credit cards :p

Vetterin,

Thank you. I didn't know about that.
In this instance the transaction disappeared out of "My eBay" after about 3 weeks, NOT 3 months.
