why dont people use olive oil to run water cooling since its not conductive?

And yes, a computer will work fine in oil like that for indefinite amounds of time. I've seen that before, just never seen anyone actually fry the system... while using it...

2 reasons I can think of, #1, I bet oil would burn up the pumps faster, being thicker than water, #2, you're supposed to use de-ionized water with cooling systems anyway - which is not conductive.

You don't have to use deionized water with water cooling, the water doesn't touch anything, it runs through a water block. however using deionized wwater will keep your pumps and pipes from getting mineral buildup.

also, water has a much better specific heat than oil.
which makes me wonder, why not use ammonia? it has better c than water.
