I.D. - Intelligent Delivery... This is funny, and sad, and right on the money!

That is a fundamentally flawed analogy. They are comparing something that we see everyday, a process that is fully understood and agreed upon scientifically to evolution. That comparison cannot be made in an honest manner.

i think you're focusing on the wrong analogy

Either that, or you're such a hardcore conservative that you refuse to understand science and instead promote your conservative beliefs on the internet and probably blindly support Bush/Cheney.

Come on. Confess. The only reason for that thread was so you could talk about hardcore and Bush in the same sentence.

And who can leave out Dick? If you're going to talk about Bush, you need to include Dick.

I can easily see evolution in everyday life.

Hope you've got the sunscreen and a first aid kit, too.

I love that cartoon. If only the storkists could have found some missing link, or some little snippet of knowledge that we actually lack about reproduction, so they could have used that missing piece of knowledge as evidence that "reproductive theory" is wrong.

i.e. Scientists cannot explain how the embryo implants on the uterine wall, therefore the entire theory must be wrong.

Anyway, this should be fun to watch. 🙂

No one argues against microevolution, which is readily observable. Macroevolution is the controversy.

I agree. His point might be made better if he used a stronger analogy.

The only reason that many people don't believe in evolution is due to their wacky religious beliefs. They are stupid and refuse to read the writing on the wall, that's all I can say about it. I mean, many of these fools believe that a ghost can get a person pregnant. How ridiculous is that?

If I'm not really screwing a ghost, than to an outsider it would just appear as if I'm dry-humping my pillow every night.

I agree. His point might be made better if he used something more absurd than a stork

What's interesting is that intelligent design often uses an analogy to describe the argument. If you accept the flawed analogy in the cartoon, you should be quite receptive to the analogy of the watchmaker. If you find a watch on the ground, you would immediately assume that it was made by a watchmaker, and did not occur for no reason or sprang out of nothing.

But what about DNA? The strong nuclear force? The exact rate of expansion of the universe that if slower or faster by a small small fraction would have made life impossible?
