If you guys don't hear from me next 24 hours..you know I'm dead.

No more chopping onions all hammered on cheap beer.

If you want to stop the bleeding, hold your hand/thumb above your head, the bleeding will stop mighty quick that way. I had a really bad cut on my hand where the skin was hanging off and it was definitely stitches worthy but I simply placed the skin back in its place, applied some pressure, raised my hand above my head, resting my hand/arm on the wall (so it wouldn't get tired) and I did this for like 30 minutes to allow it to fully clot and dry up. 30 minutes later, the bleeding was completely stopped, and I was able to go about the rest of my day (albeit avoiding usage of the cut finger) for the following week. Now, I look at my hand and I honestly have no idea what finger I cut it healed that well.

Meanwhile, when I was 8 years old, I got stitches done to my finger because neither I nor anybody I knew was around to tell me to simply hold the flapping skin down onto the cut, apply pressure, and raise hand above head for 30 minutes. Because I got stitches, now, nearly 2 decades later I still have that scar on my middle finger.

If only it could have been your throat instead of your thumb.

Oh...and it should be "I almost cut off my thumb".

I love Mayne's avatars, lol. Always funny. They feature someone who looks mentally handicapped, like they are trying hard to think or they have a confused look haha. I personally like Mayne and find his material entertaining. How anyone could truly and honestly be bothered by anything a person posts on these forums is well beyond me.

Abusing actual retards is a time-honored tradition. Besides, it does get annoying when browsing for good threads and all you can find is inane crap that's only fit for the nef thread.

Right, except you know he's not an actual less fortunate.
Also, abusing people is mean and you shouldn't do it, especially if they are actually less fortunate.

Next time make sure to extend your typing fingers further into the work area.

I had a dream last night that I cut my thumb open and got infected with Ebola.

I woke up much relieved that it was only a dream, but my thumb has been panging all day...ghost memories D:

I once used cyanoacrylate to seal a long jagged bone deep cut after disinfecting it. Several of my friends thought I was foolish for not going to the hospital. One year later, you couldn't even find any scarring.... way better result than stitches.

Yea. Tell me about it. Moving my mouse pointer around the page in the hopes of finding something decent to read is haaaaaard work!

Whew!

I don't go to the doctor unless a bone is sticking out. Super glue does work very well. Though if the cut was to the bone, I'd just wrap it with paper towels and duct tape. I am not sure I'd want the glue that deep.
