BUMPDATE: If it were up to me I'd pick Australia, Britain, Canada, China, Japan, India, the Jolly Roger, and the Palm Tree. I picked those six countries as a guess as to where the most posters here are from, whether it is where they are posting from or it's their heritage. I think eight new ones are a good start.

Any word from the powers that be on this?

I whipped up a few new flag avatars. Any chance they could be made available for use here? I made them from scratch, although on some of them I used existing images as a template to guide me. What does everyone think?

Australia
Britain (Union Flag)
Canada
China
England (St. George's Cross)
Ireland
Ireland (St. Patrick's Cross)
Japan
Scotland (St. Andrew's Cross)

I don't mind making these, they take a little time but are pretty simple and actually somewhat fun. I'd be glad to take requests and give them my best shot.

EDIT: Consolidating into the OP

I'll see if I can get some new avatars approved.

If I do, I'll open a thread and ask ppl for submissions.

This is something we are working on.

Nice work! I'll consider this complete once the flag for Angola is added :D

Awesome!
What about some more "female friendly" avatars? perhaps a flower or some sort. what about some nautical themed ones too? maybe a palm tree?

anyways, thanks for doing this! :)

Sorry, I should have clarified. I meant requests for other countries' flags. They're easy to do, as my freehand drawing skills are outclassed by second graders. But since it's you, I gave a couple of flowers a shot for starters. Hibiscus didn't turn out so well, but I rather like plumeria:

Not that I think everyone would use them from different countries, but if some people used them in the On-Topic areas, it would help clear up some of the confusion that seems to occur very often when someone asks for advice and the answers people give are only applicable to the US :D
