which is the correct term to say you dont give a funk?

i mostly hear i could care less, but that can imply you do care somewhat, if not, you couldn't care any less.

Definitely "I couldn't care less". Anyone who says otherwise is wrong.

Just make up your own variation of it to be different, something like: "I could've corn less" or "I couldn't have given a damn care!"

Hrm. At first I was thinking "what's the difference?" Then I started saying it to myself, my translation:

"I could care less" = Your annoyance could be at a lower level than I have put it now.

"I couldn't care less" = Your annoyance has been put at a level that could not be any less than it is at this point.

Either way I don't give a sh!t. Both pretty much mean fvck off.

Well, I suppose "I could care less" carries the additional gratification for the speaker of implying that they care so little about the subject, they can't even be bothered enough to use correct grammar, so on the whole it's a lower level of caring than even "I couldn't care less" ;)

They both work, but "I couldn't care less" makes more sense.
No, they both do not work, only one works.

"Could care less" implies that they care, but, and get this, they could care less if they wanted to. It's stupid, but it could work.

There is no point in telling somebody that 'you could care less'. That means that you are indifferent - that there are other things that you think less of.

Couldn't care less means that for any effort, the subject which you couldn't care any less about is at the bottom of the barrel in terms of importance to you.

No, it could not.

No, it couldn't.

No, It can not.

No, It can't.

No, It will not.

No, It won't.

see a pattern here? It shouldn't matter, neither would it matter, but it does and it will.

By saying that you 'could care less' you are implying that caring more is out of the question because you are specifying that your interest can only decrease.

OTOH, by saying that you 'couldn't care less' you are setting a lower limit to your interest and not specifying that your interest could not increase.

However it's "supposed" to be said I think 'could care less' is the better insult.

Well, if you could care less then clearly you do care a bit and could actually care less than you currently do but if you couldn't care less then your quantity of caring is equal to zero.

How is this even a question? Are you a chick?
