I cooked a smoked shoulder ham for dinner

i made sausages on the grill after they simmered in beer for about an hour. then i grilled up some red and green peppers with spices and mozzarella cheese filling, and a zucchini.

btw. that ham + mashed potatoes looks delicious!
that burger is good.

the ham turned out fantastic. I used Betty Crocker Butter & Herb instant mash potatoes. They are great too.

:camera: pics?

that sounds awesome.

After the steak I made last night turned out very good, I was going to do the same thing tonight, but this time with something else like some mashed potatoes too. But it's getting a bit late for that so I'm probably just gonna go get a chicken spiedie. I eat tons of those things, heh.

Good looking ham. However can I point out that a ham only comes from the back end and not the shoulder? What you've got there is the butt end of the ham. Good eats.

I've never had a pork butt come out looking that color, though. Is that because it's cured and smoked? The color of the meat looks a lot like the traditional ham (haunch and calf).

this is also for Spidey07:

this is a smoked (cured) pork shoulder ham.

bone-in. Much like a leg ham this is the butt end of the shoulder. Same thing as a shoulder picnic roast with bone in, just smoked.

but all that counts is that it tastes great and the meat seems more tender than a leg ham.

Nice. I've got a pork butt on the smoker right now that's been going all day. Should be ready in about an hour.

It looks to me like the OP has the leg part of the shoulder, usually called a 'picnic ham' here in the US. Pork butt is the other side of the shoulder.

sounds good. get pics!

its the top of the shoulder as the shoulder joint is in the ham still. I think bone adds flavour.

That's the stuff right there. Those small skinless/fatless hams are ok, but what you posted there is what Ham really is. I'm hungry.

its probably a Canadian thing. These are very popular here, especially in Quebec.
