I changed the batteries in my TI-86 and now it's dead...

Hopefully someone can help me out. I have a Calc 2 exam tomorrow morning.

I replaced all the batteries in my TI-86, including the Lithium battery. But now it doesn't work. So I put all the old batteries in and it still doesn't work.

Is there something special that I'm supposed to do to get my calculator to work?

Yup. I checked, double checked and then checked again. Thanks for the concern though 😉

Yes, new batteries. The correct batteries. TI's website just has a phone number for help. But no one is there (normal business hours).

I think I may be heading back to Wal-Mart to buy some more.

Probably not dead. Had the same thing happen to me many times on my TI-85 and found the problem to be the brightness. Just pretend your turning on the calculator and adjust the brightness.

Unfortunately no. I ended up going to Wal-mart (again) and buying new batteries (again). I put the new batteries in and hit ON. Worked like a charm.

Just to be sure I adjusted the contrast, then replaced the AAA batteries. Nothing happened. One or more of those batteries must have been bad.

Thanks for all the help though.
