Well, my card came in and is working flawlessly.

Wow, I had forgotten how much less of a hassle it is to have 1 card vs 2.

BTW, the dell keyboard and the G9 are phenomenal.

The keyboard is nice and springy and the mouse along with the ratpadz is silky smooth -- Highly recommend this combo.

Any games you want me to try out? I have an ass load of games (recent ones).
if i ask that question after buying brand new HW, i never wait for a reply 😉

-try Crysis ... 😛

Very High

😀

seriously, congrats ... nice card!

I know this is kind of a side step (Going back to an older GPU), but I called and I had ordered the 2 MSI 8800GT cards, I inquired as to what the hold up was. He told me that they were out of stock and, actually, they were discontinuing carrying it!! I said, "What about my order then?" Now, I don't know if he was saying that to get me to cancel it, or were they REALLY discontinuing the card.

He said that I could wait on the order and they would send me the next upgraded version (Probably the eVGA, or a GTS?), or I mentioned selling me an Ultra card for the $430 that I was spending on the GTs. He said ok, and I said DONE DEAL!!! So, I just got an eVGA 8800 Ultra for $430.

I told him that Dell has definitely redeemed themselves to me on this one. The card comes on Tues.

Don't be surprised if that deal falls thru as well. Post pics if you ever receive anything resembling an 8800 Ultra. 😉

Well, I hope it goes through. I had to purchase the card first and then get the credit put back on my Dell Preferred Account...But, you're right, I'll post when I receive it on Tues.

FYI, if you have a Micro Center in your area you can routinely score these KBs amongst their piles of refurbed/rehabbed/liquidated parts.

Nope, closest is just over an hour away. I'll just keep looking to score one on Ebay or something. I think new ones have been closing at $20-25, but I've just been trying to lowball one at $15 or so and keep getting outbid. 😱 Probably get more serious closer to mid-January when the next LAN party is, since that's what it'll be used for.

That's also when I'll be shopping around for another video card, if the Dell cards don't come through. I already sold my 320MB 8800GTS and now have my older 7900GTO in my gaming rig. I know it benches much slower, but during actual gameplay I'm all about getting frags and as long as it runs smooth enough I'm okay with turning down the settings. I may just keep using it for a few LAN parties until I can get a good card at the price I want to pay.

Well, Dell has redeemed themselves to me!!

$445 8800 Ultra

It came today. I called and they did the credit. It's an eVGA, so if the 9xxx GTX comes out in 3 months or less, I'll Step Up!!!

Woooo Hoooo!!!😀
😎

Got this email today. I'm not suprised.
