I caught a fish today....

It was a large mouth bass 🙂 about.... 16.5 inchs long. Didn't weigh it. Is that a decent size? It was the only fish we caught all day.... me and my friend were in a row boat and it poured rain on us and it took forever to get back to the dock. lol.
 
You caught a fish, I got a thread locked.

Granted, my accomplishment is rather common, but I bet more fish are caught in a day than threads locked.

you should try deep sea fishing, now that can get fun really quick, Espically if you go on the overnight trips.

I should go fishing, there's a river across the street..... I don't have fishing tackle, though.

nah when i got ashore, i realized i drove my car and it's about a hour drive away sooo.... I had no place to put it. So i let it go.... there goes dinner. lol

bass is pretty good to eat...depending on where you pull it from.

i don't care for bass. i don't like fish at all really though, but i would prefer walleye before bass. 🙂
 
It's not the size of the fish that counts, it's how much of a fight it puts up that makes fishing exciting.

16.5 inchs long. Sounds like a pretty good fish. I'd guess in the two to three pound range. That's a good eating size if you have about ten of them.
 
where did you catch it? I live in NY, and there is a fairly good sized pond behind my house. I've caught 17" largemouth in there, and even a 30" Northern Pike once!!! Amazing for such a small body of water in a northern state.
 
Around here, it has to be 14" to keep. I caught one through the ice that was 13.5" and it was very fat. It was great, but I couldn't keep it. Not worth the fine if you get caught. It's lots of fun to fish.
