Wha?!?!?!?!? If it was released already, then where can I get one? I've seen millions of boxes in stores, but those are all preorder boxes (I think they contain a book, $10 coupon, and audio CD).

From what the site says July 3rd is when it will be released, Woohoo!! I have a four day weekend from the 4th to the 7th, I guess I know what I'll be doing (besides spending some time on the 4th to celebrate my country's independence!!)

The full WC3 was leaked to the net. Saw it over a friends place and it was plenty of fun (even for me, I only play FPS games). He says he can't play online against Battle.net, but the hacked b.net server allow him to play just fine.

I played the beta... and to be honest I didn't find it very fun.

The first time I played each race was interesting, as they were very different. But after that it just had a very "been there, done that" sort of feel :(

Strange because my friends and I were quite excited to play it, but we all dropped it very quickly, after maybe 6 games?

I don't know, maybe you'll enjoy it more.

heres how i like warcraft III (full version)- i think the graphics are awesome and blizzard did an awesome job with the way the game runs. My other computer a PIII 550 with 256 megs of ram and a tnt2 ultra video card runs the game amazingly well - as well as my athlonxp 1700 w/ a geforce3 ti200 and 512 ram.

I do think the races are unbalanced a tad though. The dark elves, aside from being cool, kinda suck, and the undead can easily be cheap with the special attacking houses. The orcs however are just plain cheap, and they can beat any race hands down. They domiante anyone on ground especially with teh tauren and they can easily defend air because of thier guardtowers that do not need an upgrade.

One complaint though is that they took out boats, so no sea attacks.

One great thing about the game though is one of the multiplaery modes speical maps that is like a diablo/guantlet legonds gamplay only with heros. That is so incrediblely fun, except the part where the you are the dwarf carts - its impossible to beat! has anyone beat that part?

The second speical map isn't that good though, its a game where you dodge sheep, gets old after 1 or 2 mins.

Its a great game. The gaming perspecitve is unique. At least I've never encountered one such as this before. You have to see it for yourself. Also the details are a nice touch. for instance, when the peons are chopping wood, the trees shake, and fall when they are cut down. Great graphics. Im not sure bout gameplay, I just started.

The only thing in life that's immune to that nasty fate is sex. Trouble with sex, though, is that eventually things shrivel up and/or fall off.

Still, never fear, there are always a few great new games on the horizon.

Oh, I didn't know you meant the hacked version. Haha, I didn't know there was a hacked full version.

saw this so called "release" at a friends house, watched him play a bit... it looks incredibly fun, graphics are nice, the voices are a nice addition etc but funny enough while playing the orc campaign and needing to rescue Grom, after completing this you cant continue the orc campaign for some reason hehe Some kind of bug prolly. Playing the human side hasnt cused any problems.. yet.

Tho it looks very promising, this so called release i think might be buggy.. id rather wait and buy the real thing!

oh, come on, you can too! I mean, it's only a month or two away, right? come on, we've all already been waiting several years for it, another month or two isn't gonna kill ya!

;)

<rant>sorry, I was just throwing out old PCGamer mags the other day, and much to my amusement, one of them from 1999 had a big orc face on the front cover and the cover story's title was something like "Warcraft III - it's for real! and we've played it!". THIS WAS A 1999 magazine!!! Sorry, it's just very annoying to me, to find out about these way cool games, and then have to sit around for years waiting for them to finally arrive, or even better yet, finding out about a cool game, and then later on finding out that it's been cancelled, or that Microsoft bought the development company that was making the game and had them bastardize it into an Xbox game instead (yes, that's right, I'm STILL pissed off about Halo)</rant> I guess that's probably why I've decided to let me PCGamer subscription run out. ;)

vamperillia: no not being able to contine the orc campaign is not a bug. I think the way they structure this single player is evolving out a storyline through different perspectives. So they intermingle various campaigns together to create a giant storyline with various perspectives. Additionally thats why the orc campgain is called: Prologue.

By the way: the story is awesome in the game.

lol... a problem with the prologue... anyways, I've played through both the human and undead campaigns so far, and it's great. Storyline is pretty good, cudos to blizzard once again. Most of the voice acting is excellent, but a few characters sound strange. Graphics are nice but nothing amazing when compared to other new games. Overall, it's a solid game, but I don't see myself playing it for nearly as long as I did with Starcraft. I do plan on buying it when it comes to retail.

Well that's just it: for strategy n00bs, W3 may rox0r their box0rs. But for those who have a certain number of RTS games under their belt W3 will seem like old hat.

My Starcrack buddies and I are really looking forward to the upcoming WC3 release. They have been playing the demo and say that it is every bit as addictive as starcraft was. man, i loved SC but it was the bane of my early college existence....

Tower defense version 1, 2, 3, 4 is fun as well if anyone played it. Those RPG modded games sucked, most of the time plays dropped outta the game. :(
