I can't wait for this Christmas stuff to be over

Quit whining. Some people are having horrible Christmases.

One thing I have learned (actually from this forum) is that just because there are worse problems out there - ones that can really put your own problems in perspective - your problems are still your problems and you still have to deal with them. It doesn't magically make life better to say that someone has it worse, but it can help your attitude. There are people who are homeless & without jobs, but that doesn't mean that I wish that I didn't have to work 6-7 days a week in IT, because I'd still rather spend my weekends with my family - but I am grateful that I have a job and a means to support my family, even though the hours can be long.

Food for thought.

I bloody love christmas.
The tree, the lights, the kids carol concerts and plays. Having a house full of relatives sleeping wherever they'll fit.
Eating too much, drinking too much.
Playing silly games and having daft quizzes.

😀

I'm so sick of this shit. I'm ready for it all to be over. It seems like it has been going on for ages. As a kid I loved Christmas, but as an adult, it just plain sucks. Seems like there's so much to do in such little time. And this is the busiest time of year at work - it's pretty insane what we've been doing the past 3 weeks or so. I usually end up getting sick from being so worn out. Only good thing that comes from the "Holiday season" is lots of overtime pay. :awe:

Anyone else looking forward to the holidays being over?

That's the year waitman will blow his brains out rather than having to endure another Christmas.

FAIL! ^^^
Hopefully by that year people will realize how delusional it is to celebrate christmas or follow any religion and or imaginary god and I won't have to endure 4 months or more of this irrational bullshit every year. Starts with displays and buying somewhere around Halloween and slows down around February as people finish returning and exchanging all the crap they got.

Yeah me too want it to be done. As a kid it was fun now I'm the one buying all the expensive gifts while I just get clothes because no one knows what I like tech wise. I don't need anything either, I buy everything I want myself.

Even as a kid I would ask for stuff and because of my foreign parents, if they didn't like what I asked for or didn't want to get it because it was expensive I would get a box of legos lol.

Last year I gave my sister 50 bucks for her birthday, my mom complained I have good job and that I should have given her more. This year I'm giving 200 bucks to each my brother and sister because if I ask what they want one will say some crazy expensive designer purse or boots and the other would want a ps4 or some other crazy expensive item.

People are stressed because they make themselves stressed. The gifts is a secondary thing imo. If you spend days and days shopping, you are doing it wrong, unless you actually do enjoy that part. If you hate the hustle and bustle then just get everyone a gift card, done.

Gifts aren't the only thing that make this time of year stressful for many.

Why do all the Grinches work so hard at ruining Christmas for everyone else? Sit alone in your basement of solitude and be miserable. Me and Cindy Loo Who got some caroling to do.

What else is there to stress about? Other than buying a few gifts and putting up decorations (something you don't have to do if you don't want to) there's not really much else to do. Wait till Christmas day/eve, show up to whatever family dinners are going on, have fun, go home, and it's over. It seems to me, people create sources of stress.

Yeah its not like fireworks are keeping you up at night or spoiled children keep ringing your doorbell. You can easily shut it out. And I've never had christmas get in my way on daily commutes.

Weren't you giving me shit in another thread about being a downer and yet you post this? I used to work retail and the music definitely gets old, as well as the mindless consumerism, but the positives far outweigh the negatives.

The music never gets old unless they play the same "Xmas muzak " over and over. From classical to pop to tribal to blues to electronica, there are tons of good tunes out there. I could easily put together a twelve hour reel from my own collection.
