I bought an ATI Xpert 2000 but the drivers say Rage128. There are several ATI cards with the rage128 chipset: XPert 2000, AIW 128, Rage Magnum, Xpert128, Xpert99. I think the only way I can determine what card I have is by looking at the picture of the card itself on ATI's website. Is this the only way?

Wait, wait, let me get this straight... You bought an ATi Xpert 2000, and you don't know which card you have? Is that assumption right?

Heh, those are all the same chipset, just different variations (RAM, core clock speed, etc.). You probably have the Xpert 2000, it really doesn't matter what the drivers say as long as it's working properly.

Oh, in case you don't get it, all those cards use the same drivers.

themadmonk, I bought an OEM ATI XPert 2000 and just want to make sure that it is really an XPert 2000. Im pretty sure it is though, the picture on the site shows the card I have.

believe, regardless of which one you think it is, it is the same chipset, down to the t. so it is not like the 2000 has special features, don't worry too much bout it.

If you dig deep enough on ATI's site, they have a utility that will read the vid BIOS and tell you what card it is. ATI sucks for not putting the correct model name on each board, Your complaint is a VERY common complaint in regards to ATI's cards.
