I can't take the noise anymore!

Right now I have a GW CAK-38-II with the holy-hell-that's-loud Delta (8k RPM IIRC). I want to find some way to reduce the noise without sacrificing too much performance...I figure that I'll have to move to a new HS that will mount an 80mm fan to keep my Athlon XP 1700+ below 55C under full load (I get 49C under load with my current setup). I'd also prefer to spend less than $50.

Thermalright AX-7 or Alpha 8045 and a nice adjustable speed fan so you can choose the noise vs cooling factor you want.

AX-7 mobo compatibility list.
8045 compatibility list.

Hmmm...I can get an AX-7 with a 39cfm/32dB Sunon fan(or a 24/21 Panaflo...what do you think?) plus a 3g tube of AS3 for $39.50 before shipping at 2cooltek. Lower price by far for the same 3 things than I could get at Plycon or Newegg.

I'd go with a manually adjustable fan like the Enermax so you can just dial the speed you want. Depending on case temperatures and all that, you may find out, like many others have, that that Panaflo just doesn't move enuf air for you.
